A tea party hosted by Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Sheikh.

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar, does not require any introduction. From politics to charity, socializing to social work, cultural, religious affairs to health matters. Her distinguished name is at top of the list, of every genuine & respectable institute of Multan.  Ladies club, APWA, women chamber of commerce, Nishtar hospital, Pak- Arab fertilizer factory, etc. etc. You name it & there she is, sponsoring, patronizing & supporting everything.   Blessed with amazing capabilities to handle so many things together & unmatched beauty of her soul, this lady is indeed the uncrowned 'queen' of Multan.  On Friday, 15th June, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar, invited at her palatial home, Al-Fazal, few of the most successful female entrepreneurs of South Punjab, at an informal tea-party. More of a meeting, with an agenda to motivate women to get on the road of economic stability & also extend help to those, already on the way to progress & fix their problems, if they had any.

On father's day.

On this father's day, the writer of this blog wants to dedicate a piece of writing to her father, Naseem Ahmad Khan Pitafi. Lovingly, called by his children, as 'abu jaan'. Extremely kind and gentle, Naseem Ahmad Khan Pitafi, hailed from an aristocratic, feudal, Balouch family, residing on the lands of, 'Lundi Pitafi'. Named after his family, which exercised, a historic record of eleven hundred years of ownership over a vast area, near Muzzafargarh district.  His date of birth is believed to be 15th January, 1948; but during his life, he denied it's originality, because he believed the year was 1946 & also had doubts about  the day & month, for some reasons only known to him. He joined army in 1965 as a teenage cadet, got promoted to Lt. Colonel (don't want to go into details of his services & important posts that he served, because it is his fatherhood, being discussed here). He took an early retirement in 1988/89 because of difference of

Aliha Gardezi's hi-tea. FMS' committee party.

The sun is perched at its' highest peak, these days in Multan, giving birth to the hot, dry climate,  this city is actually known for. But an amazing fact is; the ultimate relief from heat, is brought by another notorious feature about the climatic conditions of this land, the dust storms. Thundering strong winds, suspend moisture free dust in the air, carpet all the floors with it, but bring down the temperatures to surprising degrees, often inviting clouds & rains. Here, the author of this blog, would like to relate a personal experience. As a child, she had heard stories by her maternal grand mother, about princesses, who were so beautiful, that evil genies, witch doctors, or monsters, would fall in love with them. & in order to get married to them, abducted or captured them. There was always a special description of the arrival of the genie, ghost or monster, whatever you may choose to call them. A dust storm, followed by thunder & lightning, heralded the arrival

Images of Multan, by Shahzad Khan Sadozai.

The soil of Multan is enriched with the smell of mysticism. Labelled as, 'the city of saints' because, it is replete with the tombs, shrines & mausoleums of great preachers of Islam, who arrived here, from the Arab world & were embraced by this ancient city, with open arms.  These saints were among those, who used their knowledge & wisdom, instead of swords & weapons to win over the hearts, of the people, of this land. Their message was Islam, but they succeeded more by their 'sufi skills', than any warrior, who ever invaded this land. Their message was peace, harmony, love, equality, justice & all the things, the real Islam stands for. Shahzad Khan Sadozai     is among few of the natives with sensitive souls, who are passionate about the beauty of the 'mysticism' of this land. Obsessed with the idea of capturing its' beauty, holding his  camera, this amateur photographer, goes on exploring , tomb to tomb.  In this b
