Twinkle twinkle, little SOS stars An extraordinary event was planned by 'friends of SOS' for September committee party. Birthday celebrations of all children at SOS, born in September, alongwith a wonderful race gala for  children of all ages at SOS village.  The staff at SOS village had done a superb job. Baloons, buntings, flags, whistles, even lines were marked for race tracks at the venue. The weather turned amazing. Clouds and winds, transformed the evening to a beauty. Everyone was expecting a wonderful evening. Then all of a sudden, it started to rain cats and dogs. Watering all the plans and preparations.  The CEO of SOS village, Mahnaz Fareed did not want the birthday children to get disappointed. So, as suggested by Haniya Shahid, this outdoor show was changed to indoor games and activities. This year (2021) Pakistan's independence day arrived in the sacred month of ' Muharram', which is believed to be a month of woe and bereavement for Shia Muslims and their sentiment is honored by all. Patriotic people opted for other alternates to rejoice the day this nation acquired freedom. Inspired by Prime minister of Pakistan and encouraged by PHA (Pakistan horticultural association) specially in Multan, majority of patriots celebrated 14th August by carrying out plantation drives throughout the country. Being one of them, we also followed the plan and launched a campaign for Greener Pakistan under the banner of I Multan . As you all know, due to massive urbanization and construction of residential colonies, Multan had earned quite some notoriety over the ruthless cutting of trees. Specially of the orchards of mangoes, a fruit which is among few of the identities of the city of saints. Although, we cannot regrow trees that quickly, but if we plant today, 20 years...

Glimpses of the event Corona, Corona. Variants after variants, waves over waves. This pandemic, does not seem to be coming slow. Arrival of vaccine maybe a good news, but the speed of infections is faster than that of the vaccination.   I ❤️ Multan, m ember of the month ceremony was being postponed from April, as the main sponsor Dr. Munir Hussain Shah, lost his father to Corona. Also, he and his wife, Mrs. Fariha Munir, both suffered this pandemic and remained hospitalized and then in isolation. Fortunately, they overcame this ailment and resumed life, but decided to end this 'member of the month ceremony'. As, no matter, how small the gathering, still the risk of exposure is always there. There was a great public demand of a celebration, as I ❤️ Multan has acquired a massive number of 11 thousands members in the group, within less than an year. Glimpses of the event   Corona Times do not seem to be fading. 'The new normal' is becoming common. We are adapting to this unusual life of wearing masks, using sanitizers and staying at home as much as possible. Yet, whenever, there is decrease in the cases and relaxation in SOPs, in a desire to return to the 'old normal', we try to get back to our old social routines. Such was the state on Sunday, 27th June 2021, when Mahwish Abdulhaq and Khawaja Abdul Haq organized another interactive talk show, from the platform of Enlightened Multan . The topic was 'successful parents, successful children'. The renowned speaker, Mr. Salman Asif Siddiqui was invited all the way from Karachi.
