Qaisar Khan Pitafi's book launch.

Qaisar Khan Pitafi, explaining the significance of design and cover of his book.

Idher Udher Kee, the masterpiece of Qaisar Khan Pitafi's genius.

Qaisar Khan Pitafi is one great looking gentleman, with an equally meritorious intellect to match. Before his arrival in the literary world, he was already a celebrated artist, but of a different field. A sports champion, who had to his credit, many trophies, prizes and medals in 'golf' and 'lawn tennis'. In the year 2011, he won all Pakistan, 'lawn tennis championship', organized in Military garrison mess, Multan. He still pursues his passion of sports, alongwith audacious indulgence in column writing.
'Idher, udher kee', is his first book; a collection of  his columns published in 'Urdu' news daily,
'Nawa-i-Waqt'.  The most distinguished feature of these columns, is his humorous satire on the politicians, political situations and at the inequality, injustices of the society.

Qaisar Khan Pitafi, had his book published in middle of the year 2012. But it was on 17th January, 2013 that literary and social organizations of his city, Multan; 'Savail development organization' and 'Seraikistan Danishwar forum', got together to celebrate his work.

The event was arranged in Multan law college. And was well attended by people, who had a thorough understanding and admiration for Qaisar Khan Pitafi's work. The show was hosted by Munawar Khursheed. First speech to commend Qaisar's literary characteristics, was carried out by
Mr. Amir Shahzad Siddiqui, who not only appreciated his works, but provided an insight of his writings as well. Followed by a long list of speakers, which also included Dr. Munir Hussain Shah, Mr. Jabbar Mufti and other literary, social and political personalities of the city.

But the most amusing part remained, all the speakers seemed more charmed by Qaisar Khan Pitafi's handsome personality, pleasant disposition and impressive appearance. Because, more than his columns, almost all of them admired his youth and physical features.

One of the speakers, Ms. Yasmeen Khakwani, admired the humility in Qaisar's articles. And gave a touching reference to the context, in which Qaisar mentioned that his father, Naseem Ahmed Khan Pitafi believed him to be a lousy student, but was once stunned by his writing and thoroughly admired him.

The guest of honor, Mr. Hanif Chauhdary displayed his literary knowledge by discussing all the prominent columns, included in Qaisar's book. He also declared, that Qaisar Khan Pitafi, has waged a war against the social injustices and therefore, his work is commendable.

The show ended after Qaisar Khan Pitafi's impressive speech. In which he discussed, the origin and sources of his work. The difficulties he faced as a writer in publishing his writings and his book. Also described the design of the cover, that Green and White, stands for Pakistani flag. Half of his face, shows his eye on the world, etc. At the end, he thanked all the organizers for their efforts.
Special thanks to Mr. Shahzad Khan Sadozai, for the photography.

This event was widely covered by the media. It appeared in all the prominent newspapers including, The News, Khabrain, Nawai-Waqt, Pakistan, daily Ausaaf, safeer-e-Punjab, etc.
And also by many prominent TV channels.

Qaisar Khan Pitafi's book, 'Idher Udher kee' is available at all the prominent book outlets of Multan.

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
