A tea by Mrs. Farrukh Muktar for members of SPWCCI.

On 23rd May, 2013, Mrs. Farrukh Muktar (the lifetime, patron-in-chief of SPWCCI) invited at her residence, 'Al-Fazal'.  All the members of the women's chamber to meet Mrs. Marrium Gillani, the wife of the distinguished new DCO of Multan, over a high tea.The agenda of the meeting was to organize a mega-event of a grand, three day exhibition and a fashion show, with professional models from Lahore.

The event turned out to be more of a celebration, with the news that SPWCCI, came out of litigation as a winner.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar and all the members of SPWCCI, congratulated Masooma Sibtain, for her efforts. They said, the court decision will allow them to work with full energy and with confidence.

Khushi NaeemRehana Kousar,  Ambreen Abbas Khan, Mrs. Naseem Raheem, along with Masooma Sibtain agreed upon, contributing their designs for the ramp at the fashion show. They also had their stalls at the exhibition. A great number of members, showed willingness to put up their stalls, including
Mahwish Saleem, Filza Akbar.           

All the members, expressed their ideas and reservations about the event. Also shared their valuable opinions and suggestions.
At the end, a very formal, scrumptious hi-tea was served, which was hosted by Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar.

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
