Friends of SOS also throw a Red party.

Mrs. Riaz Qureshi, Rani, Romana Tanveer, Mrs. Nuzhat Ejaz.

February is the month of LOVE and RED speaks as its color. So, most of the parties held in February are dedicated to Valentine's theme, with Red followed as a dress code.

Friends of SOS Multan, also decided to follow the same theme for their committee party during this month. The hostesses were Romana Tanveer, Rani Maqsood, Uzma and Zainab.

On Monday, 24th February, they arranged a hi-tea at 'Mehfil' in Ramada. It turned out to be a extremely vibrant event, with lots of enthusiasm.
The entire hall was decorated with Red balloons and flower arrangements. Members were requested to attend the party, dressed in Red. And there was a special prize for the one, who put maximum application of Red in dressing up for the evening. A prize, eventually won by Mrs. Nuzhat Ejaz.

Another interesting factor; this was not just single 'friends of SOS committee' but the hostesses had combined it with another committee of theirs, which is run by none other but Mrs. Nuzhat Ejaz. Which is basically comprised of a generation much senior to the members of SOS. But the ladies turned out to be an even greater sport, when it came to the fun part of this event.

As is the tradition of SOS committees, there were plenty of games to entertain the gathering. So, there was not a single dull moment during the whole show. The entire place was filled with laughter and cheerfulness. Saadia Yaqub and Hania Shahid persuaded the ladies, all the seniors and juniors to rise and perform the tasks of acting or singing assigned to them.

Tehmina Munir was asked to act like Rekha as she refused to acknowledge, any new actresses of the modern times. Dr. Wasima Tallat also showed the young spirit like Tehmina and gladly dared to take some dance steps, as demanded by the hostesses. Erum Mannan had to copy, the famous 'Horram Sultan'of the teleplay, 'Mera Sultan'. But the greatest zeal was shown by Mrs. Nuzhat Ejaz, who fearlessly sang, danced and acted, whatever she was asked to. Something truly admirable, which the young members of SOS must follow as a great example. As they were nowhere to be seen during all these performances.

There was also a lucky draw for a free 'hair blow dry', sponsored by 'Farrah's beauty parlor & spa'. Which was won by Zahra Bassat. Lots of other fun and frolic went on till the end.

And then, an extremely formal hi-tea, with scrumptious menu was served. It was truly a wonderful evening. The very fact that it was held in a separate private hall at Ramada was one of the factors, which kept the ladies so easy and relaxed. Congratulations to the hostesses for providing everybody a fabulous evening.

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...
