Friends of SOS go floral

The hostesses, Iram Mannan, Naema Mehdi, Ayesha Usman

As Autumn took long to settle down, friends of SOS reminisced about spring in the month of November and invited their friends to accesorize themselves with flowers. Floral prints in dressing, flowers in the hair or entwined around the wrists or simple garlands, a great variety of options were suggested by the hostesses for this theme.

On Monday 23rd November, Rukhshanda Anas, Hadia Khakwani, Ayesha Usman, Ammara Nazir, Iram Mannan and Naema Batool Mehdi hosted a superb hi-tea at Lahore Chatkhara, Multan branch. These ladies put an extra effort to call all the members and extend the invitation on a personal level, which paid off in the form of a great turnover of guests at the event.

It was a pure joy to see the guests, vehemently following the theme, but no one could win over the preparations done by Mrs. Samina Qureshi. Who, not only had flowers but garlands in her hair, around her wrists and as her earrings aswell. She was immediately selected as winner, complying with the theme.

This was not the only entertainment of the day. A game of Tambola awaited all the ladies but before that Hadia Khakwani narrated a Hadith to formally start the party. this session went very well as well. One of the hostesses, Ayesha Usman painstakingly had made cupcakes, which were laid with beautifully arranged layout for the hi-tea at Lahore Chatkhara Multan branch. All the hostesses including Naema Mehdi and Mrs. Iram Mannan, personally attended each and every guest.

Mahnaz Fareed addressed the gathering and thanked for their commitment towards SOS. Also, requested all the members to attend upcoming 'jazz evening'. She promised it is going to be an evening forever remembered by the natives of the city of saints as she has put great efforts to make this event memorable.

The winner for Tambola was Mrs. Khalid. Both the winners, for Tambola and floral theme were awarded generous gifts by the hostesses. Also at the occasion, 'idher udher kee' the book of renowned Urdu columnist, Qaisar Khan Pitafi was presented for the book-shelf of this tastefully decorated restaurant, Lahore Chatkhara, Multan branch. Which was enthusiastically welcomed and placed there by Hania Shahid, the owner of the place.

At the end, everybody enjoyed the scrumptious variety of hi-tea available there and this wonderful evening came to an end.

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
