Most of you must be aware of the fact, this blog FarihaMunirShahTimes was created in 2012 and is the first blog ever to represent South Punjab, specially Multan on Google. Its author Fariha Munir has officially been declared the 'first female blogger of South Punjab'. She is believed to be the first person, who made the natives of Multan, Googleable and connected the world to the city of saints. Her services regarding women empowerment, specially bringing women of South Punjab into the limelight, have been acknowledged and awarded by many reputable institutions.

As the awareness of use of internet and Facebook has increased over the years.'Facebook groups' are becoming a norm. Fariha Munir has also created one, by the name of I ❤️ Multan. ( I heart Multan) a group solely dedicated to the love of city of saints. The purpose behind its creation is the same, what FarihaMunirShahTimes have been doing for near a decade, to connect and reconnect its natives around the world, to introduce and reintroduce its, people, historic sites and businesses.

I ❤️ Multan, turned out to be a massive success, as the number of its members rose fast, it became a place where arts and hearts mingle. Where losts are found. People share their views, reviews and inquiries. Imagine the graph of its popularity by the way, it was created on 7th August 2020 and just within the first week managed to conduct a patriotic songs competition on 14th August for children under 10 years of age sponsored by Mrs.Tahira Najam of Babycare.

The generous sponsors, not only agreed to give away prizes to the winners and gifts to all the participants but also extended their offer to host (owing to SOPs in the times of Corona) a little 'Prize distribution ceremony', at their Babycare outlet, Gulgasht Multan.

The event took place on Sunday 16th August and was aired 'live on Facebook'. Keeping in mind, the children's choice, all those present at the occasion were served juices and candies.

Fariha Munir & Dr. Munir Hussain Shah from the group admin attended the event, which was hosted by Mr. Najam & Mrs. Tahira Najam

1st prize was awarded to Shehrbano Sherazi, which was received by her grandma Mrs. Tasawur Sherin and 2nd to Ayyan Yasin, son of Mr.Yasin Javed. Other contestants were also given tokens of appreciation. Mr. Faisal Shahab alongwith his Mrs. Anam Ali & daughter Waniya Faisal graced the event. Families and relatives of other contestants of the competition.

Team 'I ❤️ Multan' is truly thankful for their participation & presence, also truly grateful for Mrs. Tahira Najam & her family's hospitality. This event will go down in history of this group, as first ever and they have made history by being a part of it.

Baby care is a grand 2 floors outlet, with best of all the imported stuff for little children at affordable prices. Everyone must visit for their children's clothing, toys & other accessories.

As you can see in the pictures, SOPs were strictly followed as instructed by the govt to avoid Corona virus.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo...
