Zevar Kahani, the jewelry legend of Multan

Glimpses from the event

Multan, the city of saints has been famous around the world for its Gold and Silver jewelry from the times unknown. It is believed that the stories of the riches of Gold and jewelry in the temples of this city, persuaded Alexander to invade this land. Indian royalties, throughout history remained a fan of clothes and jewelry, made in Multan. Merchants arrived here from around the world to buy finest quality of clothes and jewelry. More than seventy years have passed since partition of India and Pakistan. Even then, Indian songs sing of 'Jhanjhar Multan dee' (anklets from Multan) and 'kangan Multan dey' (bangles from Multan).

Few years ago, two young ladies of Multan  Sana Niaz Burana and Alina Fayyaz Durrani ventured into the world of jewelry business, by introducing and  beautiful hand picked collection of Turkish jewelry by the name of 'Zevar Kahani'. They took the market by storm and were a massive success within no time. Their collection was well loved and they acquired a loyal clientage over the years by holding exhibitions, time after time.

In December 2020, these young female entrepreneurs decided to introduce imitation of traditional Multani jewelry, with an exhibition under the title of ' Zevar Kahani wedding soiree'. Keeping up with the requirements of Corona SOPs, they organized it in the open air. In the lawn of Alina Durrani's house. A resplendent display was elegantly laid. Complete with patio heaters as the winters were about to reach the peak. Very thoughtful of the organizers to arrange for them, alongwith constant rounds of tea and refreshments. Which sure proved their hospitality and extended pleasant warmth to the entire event.

They had on display, the traditional Multani jewelry, imitation diamond jewelry and also the original identity of their brand, the Turkish jewelry at extremely reasonable prices. The Gold jewelry was so fine, a layman could pass it for real, instead of imitation. Chandelier earrings, layered necklaces, chokers, rings, earrings, anklets, a great variety of everything was available and sold like hotcakes.

Congratulations to the young ladies for arranging another great and extremely successful exhibition. You are inspiration to many young female jewelry dealers and designers. A great example of women empowerment. More power to you both Sana Niaz Burana and Alina Fayyaz Durrani. Wish you all the best for your future endeavours.

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
