The last member of the month ceremony by I ❤️ Multan

Glimpses of the event

Corona, Corona. Variants after variants, waves over waves. This pandemic, does not seem to be coming slow. Arrival of vaccine maybe a good news, but the speed of infections is faster than that of the vaccination.
I ❤️ Multan, member of the month ceremony was being postponed from April, as the main sponsor Dr. Munir Hussain Shah, lost his father to Corona. Also, he and his wife, Mrs. Fariha Munir, both suffered this pandemic and remained hospitalized and then in isolation. Fortunately, they overcame this ailment and resumed life, but decided to end this 'member of the month ceremony'. As, no matter, how small the gathering, still the risk of exposure is always there. There was a great public demand of a celebration, as I ❤️ Multan has acquired a massive number of 11 thousands members in the group, within less than an year. Finally, Dr. Munir Hussain Shah and Mrs. Fariha Munir, came up with a little celebration, as closing ceremony, to award, winners of April and May, Mr. Shehbaz Ali and Mr. Jahanzeb Khan Buzdar respectively and to honor, the most cherished and contributing member, Ms. Tasawur Sherin.
The event took place on 25th June , hosted by Dr. Munir Hussain Shah , at Weightless Slimming & Aesthetic Clinic . Chief guests were, the most popular member of this group, the poetess, the writer, the gorgeous Tasawur Sherin and the very handsome and most lovable admin of I ❤️ Multan, Mr. Qaisar Khan Pitafi . Guests of honor, the renowned moderator of, I ❤️ Multan, the famous singer/musician of the city of saints, Mr. Hassan Raza Bari. Angela Simone Sharpe (who was on moderation panel for a short time and now is relieved from this assignment). Whereas, Cidra Maxari the most efficient and hard working moderator, was unable to attend due to some personal commitments. The event was beautified by the presence of Ms. Tasawur Sherin. She proved to be life of the party. Her reflective, literary, intellectual discussion, impressed everyone in the gathering. She was also made to cut a special cake, to celebrate the number of 11 thousand members in the group. When the hosts aired the event, LIVE on Facebook, the members of I ❤️ Multan demanded, as Ms. Sherin is a poetess, a naat khwan and known well for her singing skills, she must share her talent with them. She generously accepted the request and delivered a 'naat' and then a beautiful folk song from Okara.
A formal hi-tea, which served as lunch also, was presented to the participants. Then the 'prize distribution ceremony' took place. Dr. Munir Hussain Shah presented tokens of thanks to Ms. Sherin for taking time out from her busy schedule and being part of the ceremony. Both the chief guests, Ms. Tsawur Sherin and Qaisar Khan Pitafi were requested to present prizes to the winners. Over which, Qaisar Khan said, as a distinguished and senior lady, Ms. Tasawur Sherin is there, she must present them to all the winners. The prizes included, brownies by the little cake company by Zahra Shah. An appointment with Dr. Munir Hussain Shah , at Weightless Slimming & Aesthetic Clinic , alongwith a shield of gratitude by the same clinic and doctor. Whereas, a dinner treat for each winner at Aangan restaurant by LCY was sponsored by Khawaja Jawad and TMG. Team 'I ❤️ Multan', is thankful to the sponsors for their generous contributions . Also, special thanks to Mr. Jahanzeb Khan Buzdar for the kind gesture of bringing a cake and presenting it to Mrs. Fariha Munir and telling her, how could he visit his sister empty handed. It speaks volumes about, the wonderful person that he is. Also, what a lovely, courteous and caring, family/community, 'I ❤️ Multan', has become. Thank you everyone for making it a success.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
