Aadaab!!!
Shahnaz Nasir welcoming her guests in Lakhnavi style.

Shahnaz Nasir, originally from Karachi, became immensely popular among ladies in Multan for her dressing in elegant sarees and stylish clothes. An amazing designer, a talented entrepreneur, blessed with a very kind, generous, social and sociable personality.

Women's chamber of commerce Multan, Ladies club, etc, she is a valued member of all the happening clubs and places. For most of her time in Multan, she lived in the Pak Arab colony and headed ladies club and other women bsed activities successfully for almost twelve years. She has been diligently involved in charity also, raising and donating from her purse.

Well known for her lavish parties with incredible variety of home cooked food which she lovingly prepares. She is the unique kind of hostess, whose menu spreads from the racks of her dinning room to its vast dinning table ad the food speaks for herself.

As the follower of this blog FarihaMunirShahTimes must be aware, Fariha personally handles/runs/manages two committee groups. First, FMS committee and the other Media committee, Shahnaz Nasir is member of both. It was her turn to party in FMS committee she decided to hold them together. As she recently learned that her husband has been transferred to Lahore and soon they have to move to a new place. She wanted, members of both the committee groups to enjoy her hospitality together.

June was a hot brooding month in the city of saints, yet she took the pains and arranged dinner with 'Lakhnavai theme' at her home. Invited all the members to wear traditional formal dresses, shararas, ghararas, sarees to adorn 'begum look', like some nawab's family.

The program included, recitation of poetry, 'mushaira', singing and games. All the members participated enthusiastically. Tasawur Shirin, who is a poetess presented her poems. Farah Farhan amazed everyone by her melodious singing. Hafsah Ali Siddiqui, Seerat Fatima, Rubina Rauf everyone, including Fariha Munir, shared their favorite excerpts from poetry or their orignial poetry.

Shahnaz Nasir had beautifully decorated her place according to the theme, fairylights, candles, flowers bouquets everywhere and she gifted everyone traditional pouches and rings, as welcome gift. Her guests were surprised to see the variety of her 'Laknavi' cuisine. Everyone was simply in awe of her kind hospitality.

Thanks a lot dear Shahnaz, you put so much efforts in blazing heat of July and prepared an awesome feast for all your friends. Your kindness, care and compassion will never be forgotten. No matter where you go you will remain a part of our hearts and minds.

Now, looking forward to her farewell party. Adieus!!

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...
