Yasmeen Tariq, Uzma Khan and Kiran Dogar host FMS party together

The lovely hostesses of the event
Yasmen Mahmood Tariq, Kiran Dogar and Uzma Khan.

August is the month of patriotic spirit in Pakistan. Even before the first of the month, Green and White pennants, displaying the color and designs of Pakistani flag arrive in the market. The dress designers, vendors, entrepreneurs also pitch in, their business ideas by bringing out clothes, decorations, gifts to celebrate 14th August. Restaurants are adorned with baloons and buntings of the same colors. Patriotic songs are heard everywhere.

Keeping all this in mind, the esteemed members of FMS committee Yasmeen Mahmood Tariq , Uzma Khan , Kiran Dogar arranged their party with the theme of 'colors of Pakistan'. Which was enthusiastically endorsed by all the members. Most of them appeared wearing different shades of Green and White.

A little introduction of the wonderful hostesses, Yasmeen Mahmood Tariqis a highly qualified lady, she did her masters in English language and literature from BZU. Then continued her studies and joined NCA Lahore, 'interior design and decorations', completed her four years degree program and then master's degree and now practices as interior designer and decorator.

Uzma Khan is a renowned educationist with decades of services in high end educational systems and institutions. Currently she heads 'Multan Public school' as principal. Yasmeen and Uzma are best friends from a lifetime and partners in FMS committee and joined it for the very first time, but turned out to be extremely valuable members, with their timely contributions and participations. They were supposed to host the party in July but due to the month of Muharram and political unrest delayed it till August and hosted it with Kiran Dogar.

Kiran Dogar hails from a family with great political background, but she selected for herself a path less trodden. After she finished the worldly education, she opted to quench her thirst for knowledge with studying Quran and acquired certificatio of an 'aalima'. In the 30 days of holy month of Ramadan, she holds a class to enlighten women with the knowledge of Quran and throughout the year, she remains active to impart Islamic education. A blessed life indeed.

The party which took place in collaboration of these three wonder ladies, definitely had to be a hit. Hi-tea at Yum restaurant Gulgasht is among the best which the city of saints has to offer. Alongwith that they went on to give it a persnalized touch. They welcomed every member with customized Green and White bracelets, which appeared like fresh floral garlands. With their kind hospitality, the hostesses made sure, each and every member gets what the restaurant had to offer in the menu. Sobia Rizwan, Zaneb Raza, Mala Ahsan, Rabia Bosan, Sara Bilal Ahsan and all those present at the event were all praise for these hostesses par excellence.

Their hospitality did not end there. They presented three fully paid hi-tea, gift vouchers (for two) to three of the committee members. Fariha Munir, Tasawur Shirin and Mahwish Abdulhaq were randomly selected as receivers.

Tasawur Shirin and Mahwish Abdulhaq enjoyed the treat with their husbands. Whereas, Fariha Munir took the liberty of taking her nephew Hashir Khan Pitafi to celebrate his success in examination.

In short, Kiran Dogar, Yasmeen Mahmood Tariq and Uzma Khan , left no stone unturned to make that evening memorable for everyone. UzmaKhan's daughter, Mahleba also contributed by taking pictures of her partying aunties. Mahwish Abdul Haq also shared her skills for the purpose. So, the beautiful pictures you are watching on this blogpost are contributed by them, alongwith few captures by Fariha Munir Shah herself.

Awonderful evening indeed. Thanks a lot Yasmeen, Uzma and Kiran Dogar for all your efforts. It is because of amazingly beautiful and generous members like you that FMS committee group is such a success, Thanks a lot again!

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
