Hi-tea by Sobia Noor and Humera Wadood.

The hostesses, Sobia Noor and Humera Wadood. So, the predictions of the dooms day by Mayans proved incorrect. We continue to live after 21st December 2012. As someone said, Mayans have committed, one of the world's greatest prank ever. But this news, indeed created a lot of anxiety among masses. Many believed, the end of the world was actually approaching. But women, here in Multan, were more concerned about arrival of December tests of their children. Planning winter vacations and what to wear during wedding season. So, due to all these committments, the socialites of the city of Saints, rolled their activities, to the middle of the month. It was Sobia Noor and Humera Wadood's turn to host a party in FMS' committee. On Monday, 17th December, they arranged a hi-tea in Ramada (as per tradition of this committee). There was a separate sitting arrangement for the members in 'cafe' Whispers'. What surprised everybody was the fact, most of the members arr...

SOS, Children's Village, Multan.

Inauguration ceremony of youth homes. Mahnaz Fareed. A loving home for abandoned or orphaned children. A belief that they also have a right to live within a family and must be nurtured, surrounded by love, care and security; even if they have been deprived by their own flesh and blood. This vision has helped, establish an excellent family based, child care system in form of  SOS children's villages. To establish one such village in a city like Multan, was indeed a Herculean task. And as mentioned in several other posts on this blog,  Mahnaz Fareed  was destined to harbour this prestigious project. Starting from a simple house, to a complete village based on many homes. Then, Herman Gmeiner school, for children of SOS village, also serving the low income group families of the society. And now, youth homes for boys-who require to be raised separately from girls and other small children at the village. SOS children's village, Multan, enjoys an excellent reputatio...

Rabia Bossan's birthday celebration.

Rabia Bossan with daughters of her niece. As described in a previous post, Rabia Bossan's birthday was on 24th of November. But due to the initial days of the sacred month of Muharram, the party was delayed. Rabia decided to celebrate her big day on 1st of December. As it was a Saturday eve; it turned out to be really convenient for all the families to attend the splendid bonfire dinner hosted by Rabia and her family. There was separate arrangement for gentlemen in the drawing room. Ladies were accommodated in the lounge. Whereas, children were made to sit inside the dinning area. And for their entertainment, the movie show was on, at the big screen with projector. The meals were served outside, in the lawn. In the warmth of bonfire. The cake was placed in a very majestic Golden trolley. The cake cutting ceremony was equally fun filled, as a teenager's party. Accompanied with party poppers, clapping and loud singing of 'happy birthday song'. Where Rabia and her bea...

Committee dinner by Arona Shabbir and Beenish Usman.

Beenish Usman and Arona Shabbir There is a trend in Multan, that committee parties for women are usually arranged at lunch time, or  hi-teas in the evenings. But, because  Arona Shabbir  is a lady with a career, she preferred to host a dinner instead, on a weekend night (Friday 30th November). Which turned out to be really convenient for the members, who have jobs in the mornings or school going children. This was the last party, in the committee, run by  Farah Saqib . Venue was Shangrilla Chinese, the most well reputed place for Chinese food here. Menu; of course, could not be other than scrumptious Chinese cuisine. Arona had a special separate hall arranged for her fellow members of the committee, so they enjoyed a relaxed environment of a private party. Arona shared the privilege of hosting the event with her niece    Beenish Usman  who happens to be a competent banker. This is not the first party by Arona Shabbir to appear on this blo...
