SPWCCI, lunch for Peshawar delegate.

On friday, 4th May 2012. The president & members of SPWCCI hosted a luncheon, at the ladies club, Multan, in the honour of the delegate of female entrepreneurs from Peshawar. A large number of members of SPWCCI & SMEDA, attended the event. Stalls were put up by the women of South Punjab, of their crafts to provide, their esteemed guests, an insight about their products. The president Masooma Sibtain Shoaib , addressed the gathering & emphasized the importance of this contact building. She regarded this exchange of visits from one city to other, extremely helpful for developing confidence & trust, also to increase the chances of business opportunities for the members of different chambers.

The head delegate, Ms. Nabeela Farman & other members of their group admired the efforts of Masooma, who managed to arrange so many products & crafts under one roof, in such a short time & spared them, the effort of wandering, unguided, in search of the handicrafts of Multan. Saira Qureshi, a jewellery designer from Peshawar, showcased her artefacts. Whereas, Mehwish Saleem, Anila Naqvi, Humera Batool, Mrs. Zahra Khitran, Mrs. Khushnood Naeem, Razia Rahman, Rubab Bokhari. Farrah Rahman & Samina Waqar from SPWCCI, displayed their works also. Alina Durrani, the representative of SMEDA, was among them to support.

The entire event was held in a very congenial atmosphere. Women from both the cities enjoyed each others' company & greatly admired their works. Lots of business cards were exchanged & information about the materials was inter-changed among the ladies of these two chambers. At the end, lunch was served. Followed by a serving of traditional  'Kulfis' as desserts, a delightful, cool & sweet way to finish this memorable event.
We congratulate Masooma & rest of the members of Spwcci for hosting another successful show! Hats off to you  ladies!

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo
