Get-togethers at ladies club Multan in March and April

Address and prize distribution by chief guest Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtiar, with Mrs. Safia Riaz Qureshi

Once, king Solomon ordered his wisest advisor Benaiah to bring him a magical ring, with a special quality. ''If a happy man looks at it, he becomes sad, and if a sad man looks at it, he becomes happy”. Benaiah went on looking for it but to no avail, till he came across a jeweller. Who, when asked if he had heard of such a ring, produced from his pocket a plain gold ring, to which he added an engravement, “gam zeh ya’avor”, which meant ''this too shall pass''.

Good times or otherwise, times do change. Nothing remains the same or forever.  Happiness and sorrow, walk hand in hand
. Someone celebrates and someone mourns. This is life. Today, we bring to you, two stories taking place at the same 'Ladies club Multan'. One is to cherish the spring and the other, to pray for a deceased loved one of a precious member.

                         SPRING WELCOMED BY PROFESSORS' GROUP

Ladies Club Multan, has an interesting variety of members and all of them have some distinguished qualities. Take the example of hostesses of this recent 'welcome the spring' party.  On 7th April, the program started with the recitation of holy Quran. Comparing was conducted by Mr. Surriya Asif. In the first half of the show, different games were conducted among the guests and lots of gifts were awarded. In the second half the lecture took place. He encouraged women to earn through internet and grow financially independent.

DUA/ PRAYER FOR THE HUSBAND OF MS. UZMA BURANA

Members and administration of ladies club Multan, never leave their precious members in their sorrows. If a member loses a loved one, not only a letter of condolence is sent to the family but prayers are arranged and the bereaved invited to attend the event.

Recently, one of the most committed, active and popular members of this club, Mrs. Uzma Burana, lost, her husband Mr. Niaz Burana,  to Cancer. Her grief was felt by everybody. Friends from the ladies club reached their home to offer condolences. A prayer was organised at the club premises on 17th March. The president, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar personally looked after, all the arrangements. A renowned speaker was invited to deliver an Islamic point of view, about how to cope with the loss of a loved one.

Mrs. Shagufta Khaksar, the program secretary of the ladies club, hosted the event. Being a learned lady that she is, she quoted some beautiful poetic verses, alongwith some wise words about life and its end. Program started with recitation of holy Quran by one of the members and then the Islamic scholar was invited to deliver the lecture. Who went on to explain the uncertainties of life, with examples from hadiths of our holy prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and Quranic references. After that, the prayer was said for the forgiveness of the deceased.

One after another, friends of Mrs. Uzma Burana went on the stage to express sorrow, over her loss. The president Mrs. Farrukh Muktar also conveyed the same feelings. Mrs. Fariha Munir also expressed her sadness at this tragedy. At the end, Miss Khizra Niaz Burana, the daughter of Mrs. Uzma Burana spoke as representative of the family and thanked the entire gathering for being there with them in such a difficult time.

At the end, a high tea was hosted by the club. The event was simple but attracted a good turnover. Which also showed, how well loved Mrs. Uzma Burana is. We offer lots of prayers for her and her family. May God, give them the strength to bear this loss.

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo
