Awesome brunch at Avari, by friends of SOS

Hostesses of the event
Zahra, Farah, Mehriya, Misbah, Rabia, Ayeha and Mamoona
Friends of SOS Multan is one committee party group that all the women of city of saints must join.  It is biggest source of connecting with women of every age group and same interests. If you are a young, newly married girl, who has just arrived here and are in search of some good company of friends..... Want to be among stylish people, where you  can wear anything to your heart's content, without being judged, look no further. Anybody who is anybody, worth a mention, is found here. If you see an acquaintance in these pictures, tell her to make you a part of this committee. Or just find Hania Shahid and request her to add you, as she is the one, who keeps this committee going.

If you are living away from Multan and are concerned that your mom remains sad and lonely, just convince her to join this group. She will be among happening people in no time and you may get a chance to see her on this blog too. As already said, every age group is taken care of here, for the good company. Every month, all the members get a chance to throw a party. A great way to get together, make friends and display some creativity. Plus, most important of all, all this is done for a noble cause. All this activity generates money to help support, education and living of SOS children, Multan. Want to give something back to this city, to your motherland, donate here. So much fun, awaits here with such a wonderful cause.

The last party of the year 2018 was hosted on 8th December by the ladies of Khawaja family. Mrs. Farrah Ilyas, Mrs. Ayesha Abdullah, Rabia Bosan, Mamoona Qasim, Attia Fatima, Rahat, Zahra Hussain, Mehriya Omer, Mahnaz and Misbah Ali. This group of hostesses, itself is a beautiful example of how every age group and entire families are involved in this charitable cause. This group is all about mothers, mothers inlaw, daughters, daughters inlaw, sisters, sisters in-law, coming together and making things happen.

Winter wonderland was the theme of this splendid event, which was extensively followed by decorations. As we often warn everybody, do not expect things to be simple, even if it is something ordinary arranged by Khawajas. So was the case here. Fancy snowflake cut-outs were made to hang from the ceilings, with glass bird-feeders lit with flickering candles. A flower wall was created to serve as photo booth. Flower arrangements, fairy lights and candles brightened every nook and corner. Complimented with an equally beautiful Christmas tree. While standing in there, it was hard to believe, it was a hotel in an oasis like Multan and not somewhere in Europe.

Following the theme, winter attire was suggested by hostesses for the event. Which brought in, lots of Velvet dresses, Shahtoosh shawls and fancy clothing, but the prize for it was given to the one, who chose to dress in the most eccentric way possible. Fariha Munir turned up, wearing long boots and cape in Black, therefore, declared the winner. She remains thankful for the acknowledgement by the wonderful hostesses. That was not all. Lots of other games were carried out and the prize for each winner, was  a dinner voucher worth 1000 rupess, at newly opened Avari hotel. Which is among other hotels and restaurants, owned by Khwaja family and also served as venue for this fabulous party. Samreen Zeeshan, Hafsah Khalid were also among the winners.

Rameen Anis conducted the event and announced the results of different competitions. She announced, this party hosted by the most loving and caring Khwaja ladies, attracted maximum of members to attend. She appreciated their effort of extending individual invitations, through text messages and calls. Mahnaz Fareed, the head of all SOS projects in Multan, also addressed the gathering and admired the efforts of hostesses to make this event a success and thanked them for  displaying great hospitality.

At the end, an extravagant, scrumptious, sumptuous brunch was served. Sea food, Nihari, Paaey, Barbecued chicken, variety of parathas, lassi and you name it. Everything was served in abundance & relished by the guests. Which proved Avari hotel, has indeed amazing capacity, excellent food quality and services. No one can beat that, as Khwajas are the real foodies and the have complete understanding of taste. Anyway, we wish the owners of Avari hotel, all the best for the new beginning. Lots of love and prayers for the beautiful, gorgeous ladies of Khwaja family, without them the life in Multan, would be half as beautiful, as it is now. Thanks for all your love.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
