Glimpses from the event

Ramada hotel Multan is a proof, how women-power can turn the tides of businesses. Eversince Saima Faisal has taken ownership of this hotel and extended personal interest, it has become even more happening and beautiful. Specially, by adding, Zahra Khalid, who is so full of young energies, capabilities and ideas, this hotel has become the most happening, 'it place', now.

Their latest venture was a blogger and artists meet-up at the beautiful poolside, Cafe Saints. Under the title, 'Gumnaam bashinday'. An innovative initiative taken in collaboration with Phrenicsol. A unique company being run by four young men, Mr. Burhan Raza, Mr. Zain-u-Turab, Mr. Muhammad Hassan and Mr. Adeel Imam. This company which serves as a platform for the talented youth of city of saints, to exhibit their creativity.

These four young men believe, creativity takes courage and does come in  variety of shapes. Music, photography, painting, writing, poetry, acting, scripting, blogging, and the list goes on. Guided by the vision that,"artists live among us."  PhrenicSol has devoted its resources to find and connect the artistic souls present between everybody.

Ventures like Dastcaar by PhrensiSol, also reflect their love for culture and heritage. These four young men are convinced that Pakistan is bestowed with rich culture and magnificent history. This heritage is the legacy of forefathers of this land. Which binds and connects the present to the glorious past. It is cruial for all Pakistanis to conserve the treasures of artisans and their craftsmanship, handed over to the youth by their ancestors. So that the future generations are aware of their roots and are not deprived of these talents.
They aim to promote cultural arts and crafts of Pakistan in a relevant way to the masses and provide substantial opportunities to people to exhibit their work all around Pakistan.

Artists, creative people are generally misunderstood and are believed to be misfits in the society. They require more care and attention and this event was a great welcome with open arms. Inviting bloggers is the latest trend, but what they did, was way beyond better than that. Young bloggers, writers, poets, singers, performers, musicians, all the creative people all at one place.

This event revolved around the introductory sessions. Each person told something about him or herself and displayed talents. Amazing performances came up. Everybody had a chance to come forward and show their talents. A true entertainment in itself. How amazing is that!

Syed Maham Sarfraz Naqvi, the extremely capable hostess who conducted the show was specially flown in from Lahore by PhrenicSol. There was also an exhibition by some young painters of Multan. Befitting refreshment for the young, coffee and company. Everybody had a wonderful time. Which is sure going to last in their memories for a long, long time.

Congratulations Saima Faisal and Zahra Khalid from Ramada, Mr. Burhan, Zain, Hassan and Adeel from PhrenicSol, for bringing together such a marvelous program. It was an honour and privilige being a part of such young and talented crowd. Thourougly enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. All the best!

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo...
