Bridal contest at Ladies club Multan

Glimpses of the show

The ladies club Multan, an old institution meant solely for entertainment and connectivity among the ladies of the city of saints. In the middle of the year 2018, the old admin of this club, specially Gen. secretarty Mahnaz Amir and Joint secretary Fariha Munir Shah, who had served for almost 17 years, surrendered their posts for a change. The new administration took over with the blessings and guidance of their seniors and have been working hard to carry on the great legacy and traditions set by former administration.

Although, all the programs arranged under the new admin were equally nice, but as Ayesha Durrani is the new joint secretary, she went an extra mile to provide the very best that could be done inorder to present a remarkable show, as it was the turn of her own group. Ayesha Durrani alongwith other members of her group, which included senior members like Mahmooda Rahat, Mrs. Iqbal Chaudhary, Mrs. Yasmin Durrani, Masooma Shoaib,Yasmin Bokhari and new young members like Ayesha Siddiqa, Wajeeha and Aima Kalil. They decided to provide the upcoming beauty-parlors of Multan a chance to display their make-up skills and styling. As the wedding season was on, they decided to hold a bridal contest. Invitations were extended to all the aspiring, budding, make-up artists and beauty-parlors and the response was amazing. All the members of the ladies club were also requested to wear formal dresses, as for the weddings.

The enthusiasm was at the peak as ten models representing different parlors and institutions reached the venue, ladies club Multan, on 2nd February 2019. All meticulously made-up, dresssed in fascinating bridal dresses, amazing hairstyles and breath-taking jewelery. The gorgeous hostess of the event took charge of comparing also and conducted the show beautifully. Jamia Alizai, brought her respledent model Aqsa, Saima Abrar with her model Minahil, Sadaf from Sadees parlor model Zoya, Alma's model Alina, Fatima Ghazi brought 3 models, Samina, Fatima and Nosheen.

There were also two brides from FM institute of vocational training also. A special institution meant for uplifting lives of the underpriviliged youth. Their teacher addressed the gathering and mentioned the kind of difficulties and hardships their students have to suffer every day. Also described how they strived to be at this platform to create a mark for themselves. Their efforts were extremely appreciated and the were awarded a special prize, 'the best emerging talent'.

The chief guest of the event, also the chief judge was Mrs. Itrat Bano Gillani, the owner and most sought after beautician of Alle' Nora Multan. Yet, this introduction of her is not enough. Besides being an amazingly successful entrepreneur, Itrat possesses a tall, intimidating, beautiful personality and an extremely sweet nature. The members of club were truly glad to have her among them and treated her like a true celebrity, never tired of taking pictures and selfies with her and she responded with all her love.
Mrs. Fariha Munir and Mrs. Shagufta Khaksar were also among the judges. The results were announced by Mrs. Itrat Gillani. She expressed awe and amazement over the proficiency of the participants. She admired their efforts and the results they came up with. She said, each of the participant excelled from the other in some way. Yet, ultimately, the results had to be delivered. Jamia Alizai, with her model Aqsa stood first. Saima Abrar brought a professional good-looking model from Lahore named Minahil and bagged second prize. Whereas, Sadaf from Sadees parlor, with her model Zoya were declared Third. Special shields were awarded from the group to the participants and the chief guest, Mrs. Itrat Gillani was requested to distribute them.

That was not all. There was a lot more fun. Members were also given a chance to walk on the ramp and display their make-up and beautiful outfits. There was a lot of cheering for Farah Khawaja the new Gen.Secretary of the club. New member Ayesha Siddiqa was welcomed and introduced to other members. Shagufta Khaksar addressed the gathering and admired the new admin, specially Ayesha Durrani and her group for presenting a fabulous show.

Ayesha Durrani surely deserves appreciation for all her hard work. It must be very tough for her, as she is a working lady, teaches psychology at university and has a very active social life, alongwith raising and polishing talents of her two beautiful children. The good thing is, she does it all equally well. We are all so proud of her. Well done, dear Ayesha! Keep up the good work.

At the end, a scrumptious hi-tea was served. Replete with Jalebi, haleem and such yummy stuff on the menu. It was a beautiful evening, everybody enjoyed themselves and had a chance to shine. We wish the new admin of ladies club, all the very best for everything.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
