Manahil and Hasaan's, a picnic in the park, birthday

Misbah and Ali with children and family

A picnic in the park,
Oh, what a lovely day it was.
In a weather so pleasant,

string flags and baloons in the air,
chirping birds and flowers abound
full of colors so fluorescent.

A picnic in the park seems a beautiful idea, but its application in form of a theme party is an arduous task. Yet, Misbah Ali went ahead, for the love of her children, Minahil and Hassan, and left no stone unturned to perfect this theme to make their birthday a memorable one, on 19.1.2019.

The venue could not be bigger and better than stately lawns at the front of MGM(Services club). Lavishly decorated to exquisitness by Khadija Babbar of Bounty Bundles. Those Greens were truly transformed into of a magnificent park, fit for royalty.

A side full of statues, flower filled pots and vases, Golden cages and majestic flower wall. The other side decorated with enormous screens, depicting scenes from beautiful picnic spots. Picnic mats with cushions resting in between. Bright little picnic chairs and tables for little kids.

Buntings and baloon arches all around created a cheerful ambiance in the open air. It was a true pleasure, listening to cackles of joy by the children and looking at happy faces of their mothers, having equal fun. Music was in the air, nursery rhymes and happy songs and filled the atmosphere with jubilation.

Weather that day, turned out to be a special blessing. A bright and beautiful day, enough to force the gorgeous guests put their sunglasses on. Yet, the sun could not take their vibrance and hid itself in the clouds. Cool breeze, dancing trees, added to the natural beauty.

There was plenty of fun for children. A life-size chocho train, complete with railway track, for toddlers to take a ride on. Swings, gigantic jumping castle and slides. Which the mothers also enjoyed with their kids. Different games were conducted to add fun and to keep the guests busy.

Special stalls were set-up with candy jars, wafers, biscuits and marshmellows, to be dipped in flowing Chocolate fountains. Then there were self service, juices and snack stalls with local delights like Gol gappay, sandwiches, salads, etc. All the coffee tables were laid with munchings and cheese platters. In short, there was a non-stop treat going on, from beginning till end. Excellent catering service by Amir-Rajput.

The glow on the face of gorgeous Misbah Ali truly expressed her joy to see the fruits of her labour of love, turning sweet. Although, she was the proud mom of the birthday girl and boy, but could easily be mistaken as their older sister. She remained on her toes to personally attend each and every guest. Not less than one hundred women and equal number of children of friends and family. With all the happening crowd. Misbah's hospitality did not end here. The guests were thrilled to receive their return gifts/birthday bounties. Beautiful stuff from Miniso, wrapped in gorgeous packing.

Misbah is the daughter-in-law of famous industrialists Khwaja family. Her parents-in-law, Mr. Khwaja Ilyas and Mrs. Farrah Ilyas, her sisters in-law Zahra Hussain, Mehriya Omer, Attia Fatima and Mamoona Qasim, all of them joined this happy occassion and remained hand in glove with her in extending their traditional hospitality. As we always say, Khwaja ladies are the sweetest creatures in this world. Misbah, not only lived upto that reputation, but also carried on the tradition of throwing splendid, larger than life parties.

At the end, an extremely lavish lunch was served. Catering to the tastes of young and old alike. From desi barbecue to Chinese and Italian pastas. A separate dessert bar was also there for those with a sweet tooth. It was simply perfect. Congratulations Misbah! You deserve all the appreciation for all the efforts you made. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more from you. For the time being, we have to say;

It was a day we will remember

Packed with friends we cherish
No better folks could you meet
Good food, good friends together
Couldn't ask for a more relaxing time

than this unforgettable
 picnic in the park.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo...
