Mr. Mohsin Nawaz at the forum of Enlightened Multan

Glimpses of the event

Enlightened Multan by Mahwish Abdulhaq and Khawaja Abdul Haq is first platform of its kind which originated in the city of saints. It is a charity based, non governmental organisation, totally sponsored by this amazing couple and their family.

Their work is aimed at the psychological expansion of the people of Multan. For the purpose, they invite famous, inspirational, motivational speakers from around the country and hold their sessions for enlightening purposes. They also take pains to promote and publicise them. Even if some speaker is not as famous, the months of publicity and campaigning they carry out, can make anyone famous.
Mahwish Abdulhaq and Khawaja Abdul Haq  are real trend setters. Before their motivational/inspirational talk shows, such gatherings were only organised officially, or for musical evenings or religious purposes, but they decided to broaden the minds and enlighten the souls of the natives of city of saints. Where they have provided everybody a platform to talk, they are educating people to sit and listen to others as well. Their dedication and commitment to the cause is turning tides and many are following suit and holding such enlightened talk shows. Their latest event took place on 27th November at Taj Mahal marquee, Multan. The topic was, ''high achievements with limited resources'' and the speaker was an already renowned, first TV and radio host with multiple disabilities, Mr. Mohsin Nawaz.
Almighty selects people, who are truly dear to Him, for extraordinary tests in life. All the hardships that he went through, only remind him, how special he is to God. This is how Mr. Mohsin Nawaz
, the esteemed speaker at occasion, perceived his life. He shared, how he was born as a naturally healthy baby and gradually the disabilities took over his life. He narrated the story, when he was thirteen years old and lost his sight, he overheard a neighbouring aunt telling his mother to wish he would die, but everything made him stronger. With the love and care of his family, within limited resources, he continued his education and achieved everything and even more what he could acquire if he was perfectly healthy. Where his life is an inspiration, the story of how his wife Mrs. Maria Mohsin beautified and fulfilled his life, restored our faith in humanity. A beautiful love story it was, truly rejoiced by the gathering. This inspiring couple was accompanied by their two handsome sons, who were constantly around him and comforting him, which sure proved, Mr. Mohsin and Maria were superb parents as well. Well done Mahwish Abdulhaq and Khawaja Abdul Haq . We congratulate them for an extremely successful event. They are such wonderful people, they acknowledged each and everyone's participation and contribution on the screens and thanked them on stage. Such humility is rare to find. Like always, my facebook community/ group, I ❤️ Multan is honoured to collaborate with Enlightened Multan for this event.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
