Zaneb Raza hosts FMS committee party

The cheerful and gorgeous girl, Zaneb Raza in Chicago at IVLP

Zaneb Raza is one of the rare combinations of beauty and brains, with a heart of gold. She hails from a learned family and is happily married to a nice guy. Although, looking at how young she is, it is hard to believe but this gorgeous girl is a mother of two cute munchkins. She is highly qualified and despite being a faculty member of department of English, BZU, her quest for education has not stopped and she is studying more, adding to her qualifications.

Zaneb Raza has also served successfully for many years at 'Lincoln corner' Multan and has remained a source of discovering and introducing empowered women of South Punjab as inspirational figures to motivate the youth. Recently, she was selected for U.S. Department of state premier professional exchange program, IVLP, international visitor leadership program. Adding another feather in her cap.

Fortunately, a bright, beautiful and talented soul like her is also member of FMS committee and December was her turn to arrange the party. As this month arrives with many social engagements and also one of honourable committee members Mrs. Shahnaz Nasir had to leave for Europe, so Zaneb decided to hold the party, early in the month.

On 6th December, she hosted a splendid hi-tea at YUM Chinese and Thai restaurant. It came as a surprise to many, who believed till then, that only English Tea house, adjacent to YUM served tea or hi-tea. Whereas Yum had an extraordinary menu to boast and the crowd over there was enough to speak for its quality.

All the members enjoyed hearty meal alongwith hot beverages of their choice and had a great time, doing chit chat, taking pictures and selfies. Zaneb Raza turned out be an exceptionally great host. Thanks a lot dear Zaneb for your kind courtesy and all the members of FMS committee love you. Stay happy and blessed.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo...

Celebration of Saraiki culture

Uzma Burana hosting her show Multan is one of the few places on earth, where Saraiki is regarded a native language.  As this city is considered a parallel civilization to Rome; Saraiki is often compared to French language in sweetness, softness and beauty. It has a strange poetic quality about it. This language is widely spoken in entire South of Punjab and at the bordering areas in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah. Richness of Saraiki heritage and culture can flabbergast those, who are unaware of it. Vibrance of colours, ethnic touch, elegance wrapped in austerity, these characteristics truly elevate Saraiki handicrafts from rest of the world. Here, everything can be hand embroidered. Apparel, shoes, beddings, wall hangings, table to foot mats. You name it and Saraiki people would present to you an article dripping with colour, shimmer and originality. Artefacts made of camel skin, mirror work, miniatures, paintings, mosaic. Truly hand made, from beginni...
