Hafsah Ali Siddiqui hosts an iftaar party for FMS committee

Hafsah Ali Siddiqui,
the hostess with the mostest, her handsome boys

Hafsah Ali Siddiqui is one of those beautiful souls, who are always there for others. She is an extremely young person and was actually a student of Fariha Munir Shah in department of English, Bahaudin Zakaria university, but now they are both great friends. Enough to speak of Hafsah's cordial nature and that ages do not bother her.

Evil eyes off, her life is filled with all that a girl can wish for, a handsome extremely loving husband, two beautiful sons, impressive education, a wonderful job (she teaches English at a law college). Yet, she is so down to earth and sweet. Also enjoys a fun loving and joyful spirit. That is the reason, she is loved and admired by all her friends and acquaintances.

It was Hafsah Ali Siddiqui's turn to host her FMS committee party in April, which was a pretty difficult to time to host, as it fell during the month of Ramazan.

Islamic holy month of Ramazan or as it is called  Ramadan worldwide, tests all the human energies, patience and intentions. Many Muslims dedicate all their time for praying during this month. Onthe suggestion of FMS, the committee conductor, she had decided to skip ramazan and arrange an eid milan party, but they all learned, two of the committee members Shahnaz Nasir and Sarah Bilal had plans of international travels, before and after eid. So, just to honor their availability Hafsah decided to host an iftaar party.

For this purpose, she decided to pick the finest restaurant in town, London courtyard Multan. Everyone was extremely pleased to be there. Hafsah arranged a separate sitting area for all the members of FMS committee and ordered fabulous food for them to enjoy. There were separate menus for iftaar and dinner. Alongwith amazing margaritas and tea.

Although London Courtyard Multan has great staff and service, but it could not prevent Hafsah from remaining on her toes. She stood by each and every member to make sure they were served properly. All the members were extremely touched by her kind and hospitable spirit.

Everyone had a great time despite being low on energies due to fasting, but Hafsah's sweetness and care fixed everything. Thanks a lot Hafsah for being a part FMS committee and hosting a brilliant iftaar party for us all. It is a pleasure having you along. God bless you with more in helth, wealth and happiness.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
