Ladies club Multan (also known as pardah club) is the oldest social platform meant solely for women, in the city of saints. In the past, it was a status symbol, a prestige point. All the happening women, who were well off, educated and fashionable, had to be a member of this club. The tradition continues almost sixty five years of its existence.

The building of this club is now being reconstructed, alongwith collaborative support of club members, but the president Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar, remains the major contributor, donating millions of rupees for the cause.

Despite the premises being closed for reconstruction, members continue their activities
at different venues, to keep the spirit of partying alive .

For the months of January and February, two groups held a party together on 1st February.

Group 1: Included Mrs. Shagufta Khaksar, Masooma Sibtain, Kiran Dogar, Mrs. Afroz Sardar, Hafsah Ali Siddiqui and  Fariha Munir Shah.

Group 2: Mrs. Iqbal Chaudhary, Mehmooda Rahat, Ayesha Awais, Shehnaz Iqbal, Zarmeen Asif and Farrah Kareem Khwaja.

The venue selected for the event was Rajhistan marquee, Vehari road. Reason for selecting the place was, it is grand, respledent, totally majestic and most important of all, Kiran Doggar, one of the hostesses of this event,
the wonder woman, is among owners of the place and thus guaranteed complete cooperation for arranging a fabulous function and the promise was well kept.

Beginning of the progran was carried out by 'tilawat e quran' by Kiran's daughter Amna Doggar. Followed by Kiran's opening speech and an Islamic quiz show. There was a lot of excitement among members to answer and win prizes. Kiran Doggar did a wonderful job at conducting this session.

Farah Kareem Khawaja lead the preparations. She carefully planned the entire show, selected its theme, designed it in a way that each and every hostess should participate in the event. She took care of its social media promotions, bought gifts and packed them for the participants single handedly, but invited all hostesses to distribute the prizes.

Also, she conducted the second part of the program,
alongwith Hafsah Ali Siddiqui, which was fashion show for the club members. An amazing job done by both of them. They got ladies walking up and down the ramp acting like fashion idols.

Mrs. Shagufta Khaksaar, Masooma Sibtain, addressed the gathering on behalf of hostesses, thanked the guests and expressed how overwhelmed they were to see such a big turnover of members at their function.

President Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was invited to speak, she expressed her joy over the fact, how members are going out of way to carry on club activities. Former General secretary of ladies club Multan, Mahnaz Amir also admired the efforts by all the members and appreciated the arrangements.

Rizwana Tabassum Durrani, the program secretary, Asma Khan, the general secretary and Ayesha Siddiqa, the media coordinator of ladies club Multan also shared kind words and their gratitude for the hostesses.

At the end, a fabulous, scrumptious feast of a lunch was served for all and the show ended but is sure going to live in the memories of those who attended it. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
