The historic, Ladies Club Multan, stands like a milestone to remind people that women of city of saints, always had a platform to express themselves. From late 1950's this club is providing women a chance to get together and indulge in social, charitable and political causes. This legendary institute is now hosting, third and fourth generation of its pioneer members.

On Sunday 22nd Feb, a group of members decided to hold a fashion-show inorder to venerate the work of a young, budding designer, named Humna Sohail. And a perfect set-up for the event was laid, with spot lights, ramp and Red carpet. Humna's stylish designs were beautifully endorsed by the models. Which included stunning young ladies like Hurraima, Ayesha, Mehvish Durrani,  Farah Karim Khawaja, Sana and Khizra Burana.

The entire program was eloquently conducted and compared by Mrs. Uzma Burana, with Mrs. Shagufta Khaaksaar by her side to support. The show, conducted of three parts. First part was dedicated to show case, works by the young designer. Then came the dress competition between the members of the ladies club. Again divided into two categories, of seniors and juniors. Ayesha Durrani stood first among the youngsters. Whereas, Fariha Munir with her Red Saree and beautiful Rose in her hair, bagged first prize in senior category.

The third part of the show was a remarkable dance performance by Ayesha Durrani, An absolutely stunning end to a perfectly planned function. The chief guest of this show, had to be from fashion industry and there could not be a finer choice than the president of Women's chamber of commerce and industry Mrs. Humaira Batool. She presided over the occasion and provided her best judgement about the participants. Also addressed the gathering at the end of the show.

The members who hosted the show, included the names of Uzma Niaz Burana, Azra Parveen, Bano Salim, Mrs. Shamim Shaad, Mrs. Yasmin Durrani, Mehvish Durrani, Mehmooda Raahat, Farida Jamal. Thanks a lot ladies for conducting a wonderful program and also for the sumptuous treat which entertained all the members at the end of the show. Great work, keep it up.

We also thank the official photographer of the ladies club, Ms. Hurraima Durrani, the drop dead gorgeous girl, who not only modelled for the show but extended her photography skills for the occasion. Most of the photographs in this post are by her. Thanks a lot for your contribution.

Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
