But as it is said, 'life must go on'... Friends of SOS resumed this activity during the month of September. On 17th of the month, all the members were invited for a fabulous hi-tea at Lahore Chatkhara, Multan branch. Party was hosted by Kiran, Riffat, Asma, Afshan, Shafqat and Munawar.
The event started with special prayer for the lost precious member, Mrs. Yasmin Riaz. Later, Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh stunned everybody by announcing the establishment of ''SOS Multan Institute of Technology''. Another great step towards building the lives of children of SOS village. A promise that SOS village not only looks after, nurturing lives of the children it has been assigned responsibility of, but also is seriously committed to assurance of a sound career for their adulthood.
'SOS Multan Institute of technology' starts its classes this September, offering the Diplomas of Associate Engineers (DAE) in Electrical, Electronics, CIT (Computer Information Technology). And this institue will be of great benefit for the entire city of saints. As people from low income groups can easily afford admissions here and insure technical education for a better future. Our salutes to Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh, whose commitment to the cause has brought it to such glorious heights. Not just children of SOS but of the entire city are benefiting from it. We hope and pray, some day, SOS engineering university and SOS medical college will also get established in Multan, as Mahnaz is such a motivated spirit, she is not going to stop here. She may go on to build an entire city for SOS one day. Best of luck to this mother Teresa of Pakistan.
Another cherished news was appointment of SOS' board member Rubina Arshad, as principal of Beaconhouse school system Multan. We congratulate Rubina Arshad and hope her presence will be beneficial for all our children.
Back to the party. Saadia Yaqub requested all friends of SOS to donate skins of their sacrificial animals for the charitable cause of SOS village Multan. Hania Shahid distributed plastic bags among members for the safe delivery of skins at the village. Excellent food, great ambiance, superb company and a noble cause, what else one can ask for. Long live SOS Multan!
