Itrat Gillani throws a musical evening

Itrat Gillani with her husband Mr.Mujtaba Gillani and son Haadi Gillani, on their fabulous party

Whatever the literal meaning of Itrat maybe, the city of saints know, it stands for beauty with brains, because Itrat Gillani, is a true definition of it. This tall, graceful, wonder woman is the owner of leading beauty and bridal saloon, 'Alle' Nora', Multan. Also, she is, one of the two partners, (alongwith Hania Shahid) in Lahore Chatkhara Multan branch. She is not just an ordinary business woman, but a female tycoon. Same applies for the family she is married into. She is the wife of famous politician Mr. Mujtaba Gillani, brother of former prime minister of Pakistan, Mr. Yusuf Raza Gillani. Apart from being all this, Itrat is a great friend and loves to entertain her friends.

Alongwith being a trustworthy partner in business, from a renowned family, she has also proved herself truly capable of handling enormous amounts of committee money and runs a committee group of biggest sum collected in Multan. After completing several rounds of it, this committee restarted in August 2018 and Itrat wanted it to begin with a big bang. She hired a fantastic performer, Mr. Omer, all the way from Lahore to be at Itrat's own restaurant, Lahore Chatkhara Multan branch.

It turned out to be an awesome evening. As, it was on 13th of August, just a day before Pakistan's independepence day, the theme of patriotism was evident in the decorations. Green and White baloons embraced different corners of the entire resturant. Cupcakes and desserts adorned with colors of Pakistani flag.
The romantic courtyard at the back of the restaurant was used as dinning area. Which is already so beautifully decorated, further enhanced by enormous flower arrangements and enchanting candle lights.

Entire place was booked for the party, throughout the evening. Live music and singing, continued for late on demand. The singer sounded more like Ali Zaffar and Kishore Kumar, so much that few of the guests actually checked, whether he was singing or lip syncing. Interestingly, he went on to prove all their doubts wrong. Nothing else, but the perfection in the balance of music and his flawless singing was the reason, his performance seemed too good to be true.

All the participants thoroughly enjoyed the music, respledent ambiance and the scrumptious food. Party continued, after the ladies left. Itrat wanted her husband Mr. Murtza Gillani and son Haadi Gillani to enjoy the music as well. Therefore, few of the gentlemen, known well for their love for music, the likes of Dr. Munir Hussain Shah, were also invited at the occassion. The non-stop performance of the singer was indeed commmendable. He encouraged Itrat's son, Haadi to sing a few songs too. The party ended late and turned out to be the perfect way to end the day.

We congratulate Itrat Gillani for arranging, another fantastic party and wish her all best for the success of this new term of committee and all her plans related to it. If any of you wants to join it, Itrat has some slots to offer. Do contact her.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
