The enterprising young man, Khawaja Jawad with his parents

City of saints has always been known around the world for its hospitality. Yet, someone rarely acquired the kind of raging success in hospitality business here, as this enterprising young man, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Jawad or KMJ  has, in such a short time.

Being the son of an extremely successful industrialist, he completed his Masters degree from Glasgow and was fully equipped to take off, from a bigger, better, higher platform in life and that's exactly what he did. He brought franchise of 'Subway' restaurants to Multan.

Less than a decade, from 2010, this franchise proliferated from single to three outlets, at three different major business areas of the city. The only international chain of fast food restaurants, which has actually catered to every location in the city and this is not even the beginning of his success story.

KMJ's dream was to venture into 'fine dinning' services and it came true when he endeavoured for a beautifully themed restaurant, 'London courtyard'. As the name shows, its exterior and layout reminds you of British architecture and it offers, fancy English food with continental choices. It took Multani-ites by a storm and it emerged as the finest, fancy restaurant.

Now that he had captured the fast food market and the high-end too, he aspired for the desi cuisine as well. Luckily, he found the right place for it. He bought an extremely popular desi restaurant, situated next to LCY and it turned out to be another marvel by KMJ.

'Aangan' means Courtyard in English, what could be a better name for the new desi place, as it practically sits next to LCY as another courtyard. Although the new place was already beautifully done but KMJ had bigger plans for it. He hired a team of architects and designers to completely transform it into something truly majestic.

When its doors were finally opened for the public in April 2019, people were simply amazed to see the details and the ambiance. Respledent paintings adorned the walls, chandliers sparkled the place, the crockery, the cutlery, spoke for itself. The wall art, design, decor, reminded of the glory of aristocratic times and regal ways of life.

As KMJ and his family cherish a wide circle of friends, they decided to host several soft launches for family, friends and bloggers for trials and to kick start the things. The formal mega launch was held on 11th April and we were honored to be a part of the last soft launch on 10th April. It turned out to be a true exhilarating experience.

Khwaja Jawad, his sister Sadiya Umair, brother Khwaja Anees with his Mrs. Sabah Anees, were all dressed in Maroon and Black, a color pattern profoundly followed in the theme. Their parents Khwaja Younas and mother Beena Younas were also there and so was Mrs. KMJ Meher to extend kind hospitality in welcoming and settling the guests.

Live music was arranged, performers like Hassan Raza Bari entertained the audience with singing. The service at the restaurant was quick and perfect. Guests were immediately served as they were seated. Mint Margarita in drinks, desi chaats as starters, followed by different savoury dishes in chicken and mutton, alongwith the barbecued food. Rass Malai and Gulab jamuns in sweets. Everything was perfectly done and generously served, on the house.

We thank them for their kind hospitality, congratulate Khawaja Jawad and his family for another feather in their cap and wish them all the best for the future. You see folks! The best thing about Khwajas of Multan is that they are not among those who move to other places, just for the greener pastures. They travel the world and bring the world to their native city. They are changing shape of Multan, doing good to this city, more than any political party of Pakistan.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
