SOS children, get their birthdays celebrated at Ramada

The birthday children's bunch

The biggest headlines of British royal tour of Prince William and Princess Kate to Pakistan in October 2019, were their visit to SOS village and celebration of birthday of SOS children with them. This news breathed in happiness, among all those associated with this sacred cause. How could then 'friends of SOS Multan' could be left behind.

To cherish the spirit, as a gesture of thanks and appreciation for the act of kindness shown by the royal visitors, they decided to continue the same spirit passing to children of SOS in their  November party. Arranged at beautiful, open air, poolside restaurant, cafe' saints at Ramada Multan. Hosted by Ayesha Farzana, Farah Ilyas, Rehana Anwar, Mehnaz Khwaja, Rabia Bosan, Zahra Hussain, Attia Muzaffar, Mehria Omer, Misbah Ali and Maemoona Qasim.

The generous hosts offered a lavish birthday party, together for nine of the SOS children, who were born in the month of November. From party decorations to gifts and all the detailed arrangements of the event, it was unbelievable to think, it was the birthday of some under privileged children.

A proper stage was raised with birthday wishes in the background for the cake cutting ceremony and not just one or two, but more than ten amazingly beautiful cakes were placed there, alongwith the birthday bounties and gifts for the birthday children. Too much effort and personal care was evident in all the arrangements.

When inquired, people learned that, Misbah Ali, one of the hostesses, took help and guidance from her daughter Manahil and designed the event accordingly for SOS birthday children, as her daughter would have wished for her own birthday party. And this little lady, Manahil Ali, not only remained a helping hand with her mother in distributing birthday bounties but also played piano singing 'happy birthday to you', when the actual cake cutting ceremony took place. What a wonderful to inculcate the plant philanthropy in the hearts of your children. A gesture, which must be cherished and admired. Great work, Misbah and Minahil.

Rameen Anis conducted the show and provided an update about activities going on at SOS village and H.G. Hrman school Multan. She invited Mahnaz  Fareed to address the gathering, Mahnaz thanked the hostesses and Ramada for their valuable contributions and also reminded them, the amazing gesture shown by the royal visit. She invited everybody to be part of the cake cutting ceremony. Entire gathering, went to singing the birthday song. A scrumptious hi-tea menu awaited them at the end.

Splendid effort by the hostesses and team SOS. Keep it up.

Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Floral fiesta by Mahwish Abdulhaq

Mahwish Abdulhaq with Hafsa Ali and Mahwish with her son Musa March is the month of flowers and fragrances, this was exactly what Mahwish Abdulhaq, (famous for her project Enlightened Multan) had in mind to celebrate her turn to throw a party in FMS committee party. She selected 'flowers fiesta' as theme for the event. When she floated the plan among other members, they pooled in their own ideas too. Floral clothes, hair styled with flowers, garlands.  Yet, what unfolded when they reached Mahwish's respledent house, surprised everyone. Nobody could have imagined the amount of the flowers which adorned the place. Vases and vases, full of flowers. Garlands for the guests, bouquets for the winners of different games planned by Mahwish and her children.  Mahwish's children, Hanifa, Musa and had planned a T20 for the guests. All of them were taken to the lawns, where wickets, bats and balls awaited them. Musa and his brother lead as captains and they picked their players fro
