Happy 2020 by friends of SOS

Hostesses in a funky mood with Sos children

The first resplendent 'friends of SOS' party of  the year 2020 was hosted by a gorgeous group of girls. Zeb, Madiha, Ayesha, Eesha, Maria, Hafsah, Zahra, Saira, Ramla and Khadeeja. Their motto was, let us celebrate the new year with style and they left no stone unturned to prove this statement. They hosted a lunch on 18th January, venue was Cafe saints at Ramada, the most happening place in the city of saints these days.

When two superb event organizers like Khadeeja Babbar and Zahra Khalid are hosting a event together, there is no limit to creativity and beauty. Everything seemed to be draped in Black and Gold, matching with hostesses' attires. Flowers, fauna, variety of decorations adorned each and every corner. There was a special display , meant to be used as photo booth , with greetings to welcome the year 2020.

As now, birthday celebrations of SOS children born in the same month, have become an essential part of 'friends of SOS' committee party. There were special cakes for them, shaped in digits 2020, another amazing way to welcome the new year. Special gifts were arranged for the birthday children by the hostesses. All the attendees wanted to have pictures with children of SOS, which made them feel like celebrities. They were shy at a moment and joyous at the other.

Entertainment for the guests was also arranged by the hostesses. A tambola was conducted at the event and prizes were given to the winners. On behalf of team SOS, Hania Shahid thanked the hostesses for their hospitality and generosity towards SOS children, specially those whose birthdays were celebrated there. She said, that friends of SOS Multan are making a huge contribution in the lives of these children, parting special lifetime memories for the children.

Full of talents that SOS children are, they also went on to give various performances, like singing, naat khwani and recitation of Quranic verses. Truly admired by the audience for their skills and spirit.

Congratulations to Saima Faisal for always putting special efforts to make events by friends of SOS extra ordinary.
At the end, a scrumptious lunch was hosted for all the guests. Also congratulations to the beautiful hostesses for arranging this amazing event.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Maria BB's dholki at Tehmina Munir's

Glimpses of the resplendent event at Tehmina Munir's house. SOS children's village Multan is a little wonderland. Where children are raised with all the love in the world. No blood relatives are required for the purpose, as SOS villages have their own family system and nurture a congenial environment. A village consists of several houses. Each house is an abode to ten children. Looked after by a lady, appointed as 'mother'. She is responsible for taking care of the household chores and of the children like a mother. In short, it is made sure, they receive the affection of sisters, brothers and a mother. If there are siblings residing in the village, it is ensured, they are housed together. So, they are not deprived of their blood relations as well. For the rest, the generous and kind 'friends of SOS' are always there to extend their loving gestures. The monthly committee party system is adopted to keep them actively involved in the life at SOS village and en
