Gulaal an exhibition by Novaira Fahad and friends

Glimpses of the event

Young people with unique ideas tend to
 suc
ceed in the world of entrepreneurship. As it requires invention and reinvention, fresh ideas to market old products, constant struggle and effort, which is not easy for faint of the heart. It is the task of committed, completely dedicated people. and our Novaira Fahad is one such soul.

Quite an achiever, Novaira has an impressive profile. A graduate of engineering from FAST, who had dreams to work in her home city Karachi, but immediately after completing her education was married to Mr. Fahad Khawaja of  Multan; therefore had to relocate here. Unfortunately, this new city still did not have much to offer in terms of jobs. Being the daughter of an esteemed, tycoon of a businessman, she had entrepreneurship running in her blood. With the support and encouragement of her husband and family, she started her business 'Novaira's collection'. Initially, she designed purses and clutches, which were a huge success, due to stylish designing and reasonable pricing.

Then she joined WCCIM, women's chamber of commerce and industry Multan. There was no looking back after it. Being educated, young, energetic and passionate about business and chamber activities. She immediately emerged as a prominent figure. She became an executive member first and then president of WCCIM. Alongwith all the achievements outside, she successfully handled having her babies and also took care of her household.

She became president of WCCM during tough Corona times. When activities around the world, alongwith women's chamber Multan had come to a halt. She implemented ideas like creating a buy and sell WhatsApp group for all the members of WCCM, which helped them provide business and work from home. It turned out to be a great source of women empowerment at the time of adversity. She had even planned the grandest event for WCCM ever, inviting all the presidents of all women's chambers of Pakistan and South Asia. Unfortunately the plan fell to Corona restrictions.

Novaira worked so hard and was so dedicated that  even the patroness in chief of WCCM had said, ''if it was not the rule/ law to elect a president of our chamber and only my will prevailed, then  would have wished to continue as president forever'.

It was just a sneakpeak into the splendid life of Novaira Fahad. She has much more to her credit that any blogpost can hold.

The latest feather in her cap is 'Gulaal', a resplendent exhibition that she recently organised with few of her friends. On 5th November,  Saira Atif , Riffat Faisal and Novaira Fahad , together as NSR group exhibited clutches, jewellery, shawls, winter and wedding collection. They were also joined by an emerging, young entrepreneur Atiya Shahreen Bokhari with her product ASB platters . She offered free tasting of her delicious grazing platters. Display of her amazingly decorated tables enhanced the beauty of the event and her generosity was admired immensely.
There were two guests of honor for the event, Mrs. Erum Iqbal and the sweetest lady of Multan Mrs. Beena Younus, who is a great source of support and encouragement for the female entrepreneurs of city of saints. Being the senior, she was requested to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony. Both the guests of honor were presented bouquets and taken for the round of exhibition. Where they admired the efforts of those taking part in the exhibition. The turnover was great, as the venue 'Sindbad hotel Multan' was easy to access and well known to everyone.

We congratulate NSR group for holding such an impressive and successful exhibition. It was a wonderful display of 'empowered women, empower other women'. Together you made it big. We wish you all the best for your future efforts. May you succeed and thrive everywhere you go.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. She is the president of Ladies club Multan. A social platform, which exists fo...

Maria BB's dholki at Tehmina Munir's

Glimpses of the resplendent event at Tehmina Munir's house. SOS children's village Multan is a little wonderland. Where children are raised with all the love in the world. No blood relatives are required for the purpose, as SOS villages have their own family system and nurture a congenial environment. A village consists of several houses. Each house is an abode to ten children. Looked after by a lady, appointed as 'mother'. She is responsible for taking care of the household chores and of the children like a mother. In short, it is made sure, they receive the affection of sisters, brothers and a mother. If there are siblings residing in the village, it is ensured, they are housed together. So, they are not deprived of their blood relations as well. For the rest, the generous and kind 'friends of SOS' are always there to extend their loving gestures. The monthly committee party system is adopted to keep them actively involved in the life at SOS village and en...
