SOS village school, goes higher

The motivated soul, Mahnaz Fareed.

Mahnaz Fareed, is one lady who never fails to amaze the world.  It was just few years ago that, Herman Gmeiner school was started here in Multan. Within, a short period, the number of students is increased to a mighty strength of 1200 pupils. And not just that, this super-woman Mahnaz is all set to start the college this summer.

For this purpose, the lady has formed an 'executive board'. Which consists of 11 members. Dr. Yaqub Nasir, Rameen Anis, Rubina Arshad, Saira Nasir, Haniya Shahid, Ayesha Najeeb, Saadia Yaqub, Samana Ali, Fariha Munir Shah and Dr. Amna Awan.

And the first meeting of the board, for an introduction with the faculty members and to decide the pros and cons of the new project was arranged, at her beautiful home, on 8th March. Each member, was handed over a file, with all the details of syllabi, the events to be organized, the topics of the debates for different classes, how the teachers are assessed, etc. Extremely well planned, organized and disciplined indeed.

Mahnaz, consulted each and every member for each and every detail and took their suggestions and criticism with open heart.
The college (H.S.S.C) project is ready to be launched this summer, with an introductory summer school.

And also in cue, is a spring festival, coming up at end of March. All schools and other institutions are invited to join in to make it a success. By selling the tickets and being there at the event. Remember, it is all for the sake of charity.

See, Mahnaz Fareed is a lady, who takes the world along, provides people an opportunity to contribute in goodness. Simply no words to admire, this dedicated soul. Except that, she is mother Teresa of Multan.

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'.
