Every year, International women's day is celebrated all around the world, on 8th of March. To recognize admire and appreciate the roles of women in the society. It is a reminder that no society can ever survive, until women are not provided equal rights, equal opportunities and more respect to cherish their existence.
The members of SPWCCI are the greatest example that there is nothing in the world that men can achieve but women cannot. These women are entrepreneurs. Strong, independent and determined. They fight against the odds of life, support their families, create job opportunities for other people in the society. They are WONDER WOMEN, casting their impressions, inspiring the society.
On Friday, 8th March, inorder to show solidarity with rest of the women of the world, the members of SPWCCI arranged a celebration at 'ladies club', Multan. The show was conducted by extremely talented and accomplished, former president of SPWCCI,Multan Masooma Sibtain Shoaib. Many of the members described, most of them were simple household women. But fate made them start their businesses. Later, when they joined SPWCCI, availed great opportunities, which transformed their lives, miraculously. Also, provided them a chance to travel the world and expand their businesses dramatically.
The highlight of the show, was the speech of human rights activist Mrs. Shaista Bokhari. Who not only made ladies aware of their rights, according to national, international and Islamic laws. But also pointed out the fact that Islamic history begins with women like Bibi Khadija, who was an extremely successful entrepreneur and worked independently. Islam was the first religion, granted rights to women. Like the shares in property, a position in society and ordered men to respect women. Before Islam, woman was handled like a piece of property in most of the societis, Islam provided her position and protection.
The convener, media committee, SPWCCI, Fariha Munir Shah also addressed the gathering and said, 'women are those building blocks, upon which the entire humanity is
based. Female is not a weaker sex but a gender, strong enough to give
birth to life. The continuation of life is unimaginable and impossible
without her presence. If we have to uplift humanity, we must believe in women empowerment. We are SPWCCI women and we are proud of our achievements. We cherish being women. Fariha also highlighted the use of social media in improving the business opportunities.
