For the noble cause, of SOS village.

Few of the hostesses of the event.

SOS village committee, is the only one in Multan (or probably anywhere in the country), which is conducted, not just for the social gratification of womankind, but  also for a noble cause of helping the children of SOS village. It is a fund raiser, where each member donates, half of their collected committee to SOS village. The spirit and generosity of natives of the city of saints, can clearly be seen by the fact that this committee, boasts maximum of members, a large number of hundred and twenty women, who are proud to be called, friends of SOS.

The genius behind bringing them together, is of none other than, very talented
Hania Shahid. Alongwith being a physical and financial support for SOS village and school, this beautiful girl is indeed a great driving force, in motivating all these women for lending helping hands in this charitable organization.

And no praise can ever justify, the amount of efforts by one noble soul, known to others, by the name of  Mahnaz Fareed. The Multani-ites, still remember the time, when she had arrived in their city, as a newly married bride from Lahore. But her gifts to deprived of the society, in form of  SOS village, SOS Herman Gmeiner school, SOS village youth home and now, SOS college (HSSC), contributed her a stature, far more colossal than anybody. As a recognition of her dedication, she has been taken on board of  directors, of all Pakistan SOS villages organization. Which is not, less of a celebration and an honor for all the natives of Multan.

Another, elegant, pretty lady Rameen Anis is a great supporter of this cause. She looks after SOS village, like her own house and completely dedicates her free time for the betterment of SOS Herman Gmeiner school. She spends hours and hours, helping teachers to improve their methods of teaching. And is always there to provide, every kind of support, in times of need.

Saadia Yaqub a gorgeous, multi-talented lady. Also serves as a pillar of SOS village and school. She is the president of 'friends of SOS', Multan. She remained with SOS, from the very beginning of the very first project in Multan. Though, she is heading Beaconhouse, A-levels branch as 'head mistress' these days. But her dedication to the cause of SOS remains, as enthusiastic as ever.

The peace, which shines upon the faces of these women, truly reflects the kind of solace and contentment, they derive out of serving this cause. Even if they get out to socialize among friends , it is not useless, but to serve the cause, the support.

Not to forget, hundred some 'friends of SOS', who regularly contribute amount and efforts to help this cause, thrive.
One such effort can be seen here, in form of the committee party for the months of March and April, by Sadia Doggar, Iram Mannan, Mrs Rukhsana Naeem, Hina and others.

The party took place on Monday 22nd April. Venue, was Ramada Multan. And the was to wear a 'lawn suit'. All the members displayed their aesthetics by displaying a variety of lawn suits.

Sadia Doggar, also delivered an Islamic lecture and Saadia Yaqub, addressed the gathering and updated them about the latest happenings, related to SOS Multan.

At last, the guests were entertained with hi-tea. And this beautiful event came to an end.

M.G.M. Swimming pool.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th...

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th...

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'.
