A party for villains by Annas Rasheed.

Annas with his family, before cutting the cake.

Why be nice, When you can be wicked. Be as wicked, as you can. No heroes allowed.

This is what, the invitation to Annas Rasheed's 6th birthday bash, said. Finally the children of city of saints had the opportunity to show some villainy. The Queen of hearts, the  joker,  Frankenstein, Maleficent......you name the negative characters and all of them had turned up, looking great in their perfect make up and immaculate dressing.

The party was thrown by Annas's parents, Mr and Mrs. Ahsan Rasheed, on 6th of May 2014.As the regular visitors of FarihaMunirShahTimes know, Annas's incredibly gorgeous mom Mala Ahsan has already been declared, 'the queen of theme parties' by this blog. So, keeping up her tradition, the lady went on to pursue great details to elaborate the theme.

All four of her children, Aasiya, Aafreen, Azka and the birthday boy Annas Raheed were dressed up in exquisite costumes, portraying different villainous characters.

There were posters of such villainous, wicked characters, placed everywhere in the party area. Balloons, lighting, everything was used to create a dark, negative kind of environment, inorder to highlight the theme.

The Pinata hung high, a beautifully created Robot. All set to be hit by the birthday boy and to spread joy on the faces of his friend.

The guests were entertained with drinks at arrival. Followed by fresh popping, pop corns.

There was also an arrangement for face painting of the children. And no ordinary person but a renowned artist/ painter of the city, Farrah was assigned the task.

Mala (also known as Shimaila Jabeen), had also set a theme for mothers of the children invited at the party. They had to wear, either Black or White. Where most of the ladies appeared dressed in Black, Mala herself glowed and sparkled in White.

Mr. Ahsan Rasheed, who is among the biggest philanthropists of Multan, alongwith being a successful industrialist, as he is the owner of 'Shama banaspati'. Remained at ease, showing his usual courtesy and humility, with a smile, greeting and entertaining friends of his children.

Whereas, Annas' sister Aafreen was in charge of the comparing of the event and conducting the games. And thoroughly entertained all the guests, telling different anecdotes and keeping everybody on their toes, with different activities.

Finally, a scrumptious dinner was served. And everybody was excited to see the drinks being served in glasses labelled 'poison'. Showing the true spirit of the villains, children took them gladly.

At the end, let us inform you that Annas Rasheed is one boy, whose maximum birthdays have been featured on this blog. The variety of themes and novelty of ideas, shown by his mother Mala Ahsan are amazing. Congratulations to her and to entire family.

Looking forward to more fun in the future.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
