End of year 2019 party at ladies club Multan

Glimpses of the beautiful event
In 2019, Pardah ladies club Multan, completed its 60th anniversary. The biggest function of the year to mark the occasion and the party to end the year 2019, was celebrated by a group of enthusiastic, fun loving and happening ladies of the city of saints. When well known personalities like Masooma Sibtain, Shagufta Khaksar and Fariha Munir Shah are together as organizers, the event has to be a fabulous success.

A wonderful new member, Asfa Yahya, also joined this group as first time hostesses which further paved the way for the program to be an amazing show. Mrs. Shahnaz Khakwani, Mrs. Afroz, Asma Aslam and Shazia Parveen also contributed as hostesses.

Highlight of the event was 'Winter dressing competition'. Which motivated all the members to get dressed to their best and also provided them an opportunity to join the catwalk. First prize was won by a beautiful, new and young member Ayesha Awais. Second prize was bagged by Shahnaz Iqbal. Third by another senior member Mahmooda Rahat.

Stylish and beautiful ladies,
Samreen Zeeshan and Sobia Rizwan were specially invited as judges of the 'winter dressing competition. Their presence further beautified the entire show.

All the members of the ladies club Multan, were fascinated by the chief guest, the charming and beautiful Zainab Raza. Who is the head of 'Lincoln's corner' and also lecturer of English at BZU Multan. Farah Faisal , Shazia Bhutta of Women's chamber and Zahra Bassat's presence turned out to be an extremely pleasant surprise. Arrival of all these beauties in the ladies club was like a breath of fresh air, heartwarming and refreshing.

The event was also dedicated to birthday celebration of the president of the ladies club, who was also the guest of honor on the occasion, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar as it took place on 18th December and 17th was her birthday. Almighty has blessed this gracious lady with best of everything. So, instead of showering insignificant gifts which could be not match her personality, the group members simply presented a 'Shield of honor' to her.

The entire show was a display of great teamwork of the hostesses, specially Asfa Yahya who decorated a special table for the cake cutting ceremony of the president. Mrs Afroz sang a song alongwith her daughter. Mrs. Shagufta Khaksar conducted the entire show perfectly, with Asma Khan, the new program secretary and Gen. Secretary Farah Khwaja by her side.

The president, birthday girl and the guest of honor, all in one, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar addressed the gathering and thanked the hostesses for all their love and always arranging a wonderful party. She admired their efforts and appreciated their fun-loving spirits and that they took this opportunity to add joy to her birthday. She also presented them gifts in return.

The chief guest,
Zainab Raza
was also invited on stage. She briefed the audience about her work at 'Lincoln corner' and expressed her commitment towards women empowerment.  She thanked the hostesses for their hospitality and love.

The judges, the chief guest and all the hostesses joined the president on stage for cake cutting ceremony and wished her 'happy birthday' singing together, while music played.

The hostesses tried to be different with gifts this time and presented shields to all the prize winners and specially invited guests. Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was requested to distribute them. Whereas, shield of honor was presented to her togther by the chief guest and judges, on behalf of  host group members. Special shields were awarded to Gulnaz Nawab from Nawai-waqt and Shaireen Rana from 'Jang' for their support of the ladies club Multan.

At the end, a scrumptious dinner was served for all the guests. Complete with Kashmiri chai and desserts. Everybody had a good time and enjoyed this event wholeheartedly. The event was widely covered by media and newspapers. It was indeed the most happening party of the year.

View of the domes of MGM bulding from inside the pool. The crystal clear blue water. Chairs lined up for the spectators. Little pool for the toddlers. Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too.
