On Sunday, 6th May. A group of little pirates, with their eye patches, shiny swords & head scarves, invaded the house of Anas Rasheed & declared him the 'captain of the crew'.
All this happened by the consent of Anas' gorgeous mom, Shimaila Jabeen (lovingly known as MALA by her friends). Mala & her husband Mr. Ahsan Rasheed are few of the fortunate ones, who are young, good looking, possess great ideas & means, which allow them to hold great parties. Also blessed with four lovely kids, Aasiya, Aafreen, Azka & Anas, their birthdays, beautiful reasons to celebrate, provide their wonderful parents, a chance to party all the year round.
Anas baba (as the whole family calls, the little captain), turned four this year. Never short of ideas, the brainy beauty, Mala arranged an extensive theme party, 'PIRATES', to celebrate the occasion. The lady went on, for the greatest details. The invitation card was Black, with a white skull, held in swords. This worked as the basic layout of the entire party. The same print/theme, was everywhere. On the disposable glasses, paper plates, string pennants, think of something & it was there. Adding a touch of reality & romance, the entire party area was lit with burning fire torches, again with the same sign/logo/monogram, whatever you choose to call it.
A big banner was placed on the gates to warn the guests, 'BEWARE, PIRATES'. Golden, aristocratic, antique looking mirrors & treasure chests were placed everywhere, few filled with jewels too, to enhance the beauty of the setting. A wooden dance floor was laid in the lawn, which not only provided children an endless reason to dance but also symbolized 'the deck' of a ship. A DJ, was there to handle the special music system, linked with the disco lights. Anas' eldest sister, Aasiya Rasheed, took upon herself, the responsibility to compare & conduct the entire event. She performed this task so, the entire audience was amazed to see her abilities & her confidence. She was never tired, nor bored, neither let the audience feel the same way, but kept everybody entertained by hosting innumerable games, not just for their own friends, but also invited aunts & uncles, to play games, tell jokes & to dance.Hats off to the little lady!
Another, something worth mentioning was, 'THE JAIL'. Decorated beautifully with scary Red background, dull lights & skulls hanging on the walls, it depicted a real scene, how pirates treat their hostages. Aafreen, Anas' sister number 2, managed the jail. Children went out to her, to take their mothers, to the jail & Aafreen went on to arrest, her aunts as hostages. While little ones Azka & birthday boy Anas, kept dancing & remained busy in sword fighting. Oh! Was just reminded, a 'sword fighting' competition also took place. Lots of music, lots of games, lots of dancing. All this kept the guests, thrilled & entertained.
And the moment that the guest kids await the most, in any birthday party!! The time they receive, their 'return gifts/ birthday bounty'. Generous, as Mala has always been, she bought ready made, decorative small treasure chests & filled them with chocolates, wrapped in gold paper. Which left, the children extremely happy.
At the end, keeping their tradition, the family hosted a scrumptious, sumptuous dinner. With everything, from K.F.C, Pizza hut, to the traditional barbecue & desi cuisine.
